Confession is Good for the Soul
I have a confession to make. One I am not proud of. Living in close proximity has been good for us. Gary talks more....even when it's not what I want to hear. Know what he told me last week? He said I never baked cookies just for him.
I have baked thousands of cookies over the last 31 years. But never just a "Here honey, I made these for you."
He always gets the burnt ones 😬. You know, the broken and over cooked ones you can't give away to someone.
He did say I do ask his input on Christmas cookies. But to make cookies for no reason other than to bless my husband....hasn't happened.
So one day after work this week I started on a batch of chocolate chip cookies. BTW, get yourself some friends with great recipes!! A coworker made me cookies before I left and they were amazing. Thankfully she shared her recipe!!!
Gary actually prefers the raw cookie dough to the actual cookie. So after I started the first batch in the oven, I headed outside to find him with a spoon full of cookie dough in hand. I found him at the back of the RV and handed him the spoon. As he gobbled down the yummy sweetness he said, "made cookies for the new neighbors?". "Nope" I replied. "Oh, then who?" He questioned. "You, babe. I made them just for you." 💕
Now, because neither of us need an entire batch of cookies in the house, I put the dough in the freezer
Friday, I pulled another hunk out and he had cookies again....just for him!
I really need to pay more attention. Lord, teach me how to honor my husband. Remind me that my first ministry is right here. Forgive me when I put others before him. I want to be the best wife I can be. 💕
