Fox Meadows’ Creamery
We said goodbye to Fox Meadows’ Creamery Friday night. We only were there twice. It was over 30 minutes from where we were staying and gas in Pennsylvania was sometimes close to $5.00 a gallon this summer.
I took TC along to do a video but when Madison learned we were at Foxes she said, “You will need to do a blog post about Foxes.” So, this one is for you, Madison. ❤️
Fox Meadows’ Creamery is about more than ice cream. They create an experience, an environment that is homey, along with a great dessert.
And it's kind of a family tradition with us Hagmayers!!
When Sara and Ben had their wedding celebration in Pennsylvania, June of 2017, the outdoor venue wasn't far down the road. The set up day was met with a torrential downpour and we spent a long day on site. After the rehearsal was complete and the dinner enjoyed, Ben's parents took us all to Foxes for a treat!!
Later that year Zach left for Basic and his then girlfriend, now wife, Sarah and I would go to Foxes to catch up. By then it was winter and we would get ice cream and sit by the fire and talk about life....and Zach.
Zach and Sarah were married in March of 2020. Daniel and Madison had driven up for the wedding and Gary, Sara and Everett and I had flown. We all decided once the reception was over we had just enough time to get to Foxes before they closed.
Not only is this a Hagmayer family thing, it's a Fox family thing. The Fox family dairy was purchased in the 1950s. In 2011 conversations began about how to involve all of the siblings in the family business and the idea of ice cream was born. According to an article on the PA Department of Community and Economic Development website, in an interview with Krista Fox, they wanted a recipe with the most wholesome ingredients and they got it down to 6. The equipment was installed in January of 2015, the recipe was perfected, and they opened their doors in April of that same year.
The rest is literally history. Folks travel far and wide to partake of their amazing creations. The ice cream, all 24 flavors, are hand crafted. They also feature homemade waffle bowls and waffle cones. Their signature piece is the Baked Fox. This is where they take two brownies, or a chocolate chip cookie or other seasonal treats, fill it with ice cream and warm it. Pure. Warm. Goodness.
The flavors are sorted by category..
Featured Flavors, Fruit, Nuts, Chocolate, Classics, Sweets, Diary Free Sorbets
You are welcome to ask for a sample. You can also mix and match, which I always do.
If you love ice cream and if you find yourself anywhere NEAR Ephrata, their second location in Leola, or even a grocery story that carries their product, you absolutely, positively MUST stop and try their ice cream.
Don’t miss out on TC’s Adventure video.
Blessings, my sweet friends.
Psalm 27:13-14
13 I remain confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living.
14 Wait for the Lord;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the Lord.
