Eating on the Road

My Mom told me one day when I was in prep mode for this new season, “But I tell my friends, ‘Des loves to cook’…” She didn’t say the words out loud, but I had a feeling she was seriously doubting the wisdom in my life choices. Well, here are just a few of the things I have cooked up since living full time in the RV!

If you want any recipes, just ask!! I love to cook and I have brought myself on the road with me. The German chocolate was at a request and was the very first time I ever attempted that. The icing was amazing!! I made both from scratch. I have not counted the amount of bread I have made and given away.

We love food, that hasn’t changed. And eating out all the time isn’t affordable or inviting.

I have my Emeril’s air fryer/convection oven combo, I also use a crock pot occasionally. I have a griddle but that is usually for breakfast or lunch. The RV has a three burner gas stove and an additional microwave/convection oven combo. On rare occasions I have had both convection ovens going at once! My Kitchen Aid mixer is 20 years old and lives in a tote in the basement storage until I need her. I have pulled her out and put her to work for mashed potatoes a few times and for the stromboli dough.

It’s all about grit! If you want to be successful, you just need to be determined! Put your head down and figure it out! Where there is a will there is a way!!

I love you deeply. Let me know how I can be praying for you.
