Today we journeyed to Lititz, Pa. This lovely town in Lancaster county was on Gary's bucket list he doesn't believe in. 🤣

It was Sunday, Father's Day actually, so some stores were closed. We had lunch at Lititz Springs Inn. There was ample outdoor seating, I cannot speak to the dining indoors. We had an engagement for later in the afternoon so we didn't want to eat heavy. Which is a shame because the specials all sounded wonderful, especially the pierogies with kielbasa!!! We decided to split two appetizers. The Smoked Trout Dip had rye toast and crackers along with fried capers. We also ordered the Bulls Head Fries was a large dish of fries with house andalouse sauce, a white cheese sauce and a black garlic mayo sauce.

I loved the trout dip, it was bursting with flavors. Gary's favorite was the black garlic mayo sauce and I enjoyed the andalouse sauce. The white cheese was just that and nothing more. 🤣
Lunch was lovely. The weather was perfect and the humidity was low.

We walked the streets of Lititz and ventured into the shops that were open. We frequently visited Lititz when we lived in Pennsylvania before. I was very happy that my favorite tea store still exists, although under a different name.

I love loose tea. It is very hard to find tea stores. I love the ability to open a glass jar and take a deep breath and savor the tea without a sip. Without tea stores, I have to purchase tea on line. It's not terrible and maybe even cheaper but if I get a flavor and don’t love it it's, "Suck it up, Butter Cup". 🤣🤣
The gentleman in the tea store was very helpful bringing me all sorts of samples to smell. I did make a purchase...two ounces of Treasures of Inca. I can't wait to try it!!
What also exists in Lititz is a kitchen store called Zest.

I love a good kitchen store and despite the fact that I don't need anymore gadgets and live in an RV, I slowly perused the store checking out all of the neat kitchen toys. The cool cookie cutters were a huge temptation but in the end I walked away.
Julius Sturgis Pretzel Bakery
We meandered further and further until I found the Julius Sturgis Pretzel Shop and museum. This is such a popular place that there was literally a tour bus parked out front. I need to purchase post cards wherever I go to send the grands that aren't local and post cards are not easy to find. So I went inside for this express purpose (and they have a public restroom). Since I was making the purchase of the post cards...we decided to also purchase a soft pretzel. Neither of us were hungry but the pretzels looked good. Spoiler alert, they were not. Oh well. I still needed the post cards.

Lititz is a very old town, first established in 1742 by the Moravians. Today the Moravian church is still an active church in the city. Also, the Linden Hall for Girls was established in 1746 and remains the oldest all girls boarding school in United States.

Although this pretty town is located in Lancaster County, home of rolling farmlands and quaint Amish, do not expect a conservative town. Our visit fell in the month of June, maybe once pride month is over it is less in your face. But this is a very liberal town that is happy to share their views.
If you are seeking a family friendly activity there is a lovely playground called Tree House Park just on the outskirts of town. No agenda there, just good clean outdoor fun. 😊
