Living Fearless
Last year toward the end of summer, small groups were reconvening across my church in Columbus, Ga. I had not been a part of a ladies Bible study in way too long and I adore the host so I jumped right in. The book was “Living Fearless”. I really didn’t care one way or the other about the subject matter, again, I was just happy for community. Besides, I’m not afraid of much…right?
Each week we had assigned reading and then met to discuss it. And then came the weeks with the guided prayer. Oh my goodness.
The First Book that Changed my Life
Let me be clear, the BIBLE is the book that changed my life. The Word of God is living, breathing and active. Jesus is referred to as The Word in John 1. II Timothy 3, Hebrews 4, Psalm 119. The Word of God is beautiful and the sword of the Spirit guides my life.
The Second Book that Changed my Life
That being said, this book, the Book “Living Fearless” by Jamie Winship, has also changed my life.
Listen, we go about labeling things, labeling people, ourselves and each other. We even have quippy initials….ADD, ADHD, OCD… labels and diagnoses and meds to go with it. We hear these things spoken over us – you’re too this, you’re too that - and we absorb them, then we own them, and then they define who we are.
I am NOT. I am not disqualified, I am not unwanted, I am not inadequate. I will no longer listen to the lies of the enemy of my soul who wants to keep me bound and incompetent. I WILL BE FREE.
Studying this book, revealing the lies, learning my True Identity has changed who I am, how I see people and how I walk with Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
My True Identity Revealed
My true identity? I am a Daughter of the Most High God, a Legacy Builder and a Seed Sower. Seed Sower He gave me in a vision, not words. Someday I will find someone to flesh out the image God dropped in my spirit. ♥
So, you identify the lies and confess and repent having believed them, you discover your true identity…now what? Well, Papa and I are working that out too!
Since January and our second stop in Woodbine, Georgia, God has me baking bread and giving it away. I tell people right out, it’s my ministry, my true identity. Just sowing seeds!!!
I have also been sharing about the book. I have purchased and given away a few copies and I have sent screen shots of the cover to anyone who will listen! I get to do a phone call Bible study with a friend in another state and we are working through the book together. I even love it more going through it the second time!!! We are almost at the part when God speaks true identity to us and I am curious to see what He has to say to me this time!
This week I spent the day with one of my dearest and oldest friends. I had told her about the book and she went through it with her two daughters and a daughter in law (the DIL was familiar with the study and recommended the journal too.) I have asked two of my girls to do it with me as well. ♥
Walking as a Seed Sower
Recently, I had this idea to start a VBS at the campground, there are so many children here. I asked one of my prayer warrior sisters, “Pray about this, was it me or was it the Lord?” Since she knows my true identity, she affirmed who I am and prayed for me. Fear wanted to keep me from asking the lady in charge of the campground. I was literally cooking dinner and I heard Jamie, from the book, telling me I have nothing to fear if I am walking in my true identity. I immediately stopped what I was doing and want to speak to her. She wasn’t at the front desk and I had to overcome fear of rejection three times before I could speak to her face to face. Know what she said? She said “yes”. So next week I start sharing God’s Extravagant Love with children in the campground. Because I am a Seed Sower, just sowing seeds!!! 😊
Friends, it is just That Good.
God created the Universe, I believe for our enjoyment as well as His (this is my opinion, I have no Scriptural backup for this). Jesus died for my sins – this is NOT my opinion, it is FACT. Holy Spirit is a part of the Trinity that lives within me. ALL of this, they did for ME. How can I refuse to not live my fullest and truest self for them? Like, that’s ridiculous!
My Heart’s Desire
I urge you, Brothers and Sisters in Christ, get curious. Ask yourself if you know your true identity. I pray for you to hunger and thirst for more of God and want to know the things He says about you. I pray that this question keeps you awake at night until you cannot rest until you know.
I have never spoken with this author, I receive zero dollars for this recommendation. But as a sister in Christ I would be disobedient to not share this information that I have. Next to the Gospel, this is the best news I have found.
I love you dearly. I pray for you to discover your true identity so you can Live Fearless!!
