Be Ready
God gave me a message February 3, 2025. Yes, an entire year ago. I don’t know why I have been sitting on it, lack of confidence, disobedience. I have no answers for you. But today when He answered a prayer INSTANTLY, I knew it was time.
A year ago, I was praying and God spoke to me about Himself as the great “influencer”. That’s a word so many throw around today, “Influencer”. But when I heard it from God it was more like the old E.F Hutton commercial….. Remember? When E.F. Hutton talks, people listen.

But despite whether or not we are listening, what He says doesn’t always happen immediately.
IMMEDIATELY
First let’s talk about the immediately. The ice cube maker in our RV doesn’t work. It is getting warm out so I decided it was time to start making ice cubes. I literally brought two ice cube trays from the sticks and bricks “just in case”. Today when Gary pulled the Extra Kitchen box out from the basement storage I pulled out the Kitchen Aid mixer I need AND the ice cube trays.
I figured I should try them out first, to see if they fit. Some things are smaller in an RV. While we don’t have a dormitory style refrigerator, it is not as big as the refrigerator in your home. I tried the white tray one way, it was too wide. I tried it the other way and then attempted to shut the door. Nope, not happening. The door closed but I am pretty sure there would have been spilling of water had there been water in the tray. “Oh well,” I say to the Lord. “I need one just a teensy bit smaller.”
On the table was the second tray, it is red. Laying side by side I would visibly see the difference.
The photo does not do the moment justice. You are going to have to trust me!
Wow, really, Lord?? An instant answer to prayer. I tried it and yes, the red one fit perfectly. That was when I knew what I would be doing the next few hours – sharing the Word of the Lord He gave me a year ago.
God sometimes does “immediately” in your life. In Matthew 14 is the story of Jesus walking on the water. Matthew uses the word Immediately. But more often than not, God makes a promise and then there is a journey involved. For Abraham, it was a physical journey. But often it is a spiritual journey.
When Jesus walked the year he fed thousands, more than once. He healed all that were brought to him on the spot. But when it came time to choose between a hardened criminal and Jesus – the people set the criminal free and cried out for Jesus to be crucified.
It reminds me of the parable of the sower – the roots weren’t there. Their faith did not run deep.
Maybe that is why God’s timing is so different from ours. So many of us have received a promise and it feels like God is delayed in delivering.
I am on a journey of asking, seeking and knocking. I invite you to come along as I explore the saints of old who heard a promise, endured trials (maybe in preparation?), and were ready when the time came.
What if the delay is God preparing you to receive the promise?
Listen to His Voice, Endure the Trial….Be READY
