It’s not all Fun and Games
Maintenance:
Gary has found plenty of projects to do around the house. In the beginning it was emergency repairs. He still has a teensy water leak behind the toilet he can’t quite locate. There was a water repair we needed to call in a repair man for early on. But now he just has general fix it stuff around the RV.
My favorite upgrade/maintenance project is the shower head. Just like in your home, these things get clogged up with residue from the water. Gary replaced the shower head with one straight out of Lowe's. I was over the moon!
The Kitchen the faucet left a puddle and the water flow was a trickle at best. So we went to Lowes and found one that would fit in the RV. He took just a little while to make the swap. He had been dreadding this repair but it turned out to be quite simple. While he was under the sink he also replaced the water filter. Between the new water filter and the new faucet I have a lovely water flow! It’s the little things!
After the cold and before the heat, and on a dry day, we ventured to the roof. I couldn’t wait to get on the roof to check things out. We have a TPO roof - Thermoplastic Polyolefin. This was installed when it was manufactured. However, there are some joints up there and them some seals around things like vents, etc. This was one of the items on the inspection. The Inspector was concerned about some of the seals on the roof. Not that he felt we had present leaks, but we stressed the need to attend to this so we didn’t GET leaks.

We also hung spouting.

Every 5 days Gary empties the black and gray tanks – I will spare you the photos. I do not assist with this process.
Once a week he fills out water tank. We had a leak when we were in Alabama and hooked up to the city water and he hasn’t ventured into that fix-it project yet.
Gary also goes to the laundromat while I am working. It’s in the bathhouse just two streets over so he walks over and back and sets a timer. It is free here so that is a huge bonus as I had budgeted $20.00 a week for Laundry.
We both vacuum. I clean the tile floor on my hands and knees every few weeks.
And dishes, we do a lot of dishes. Nope – there is no dishwasher.
Gary can often be found wiping down the outside or cleaning the gigantic windshield. People comment all the time about how clean she looks but he is chomping at the bit to giver her a bath!
See, nothing too glamorous. But upkeep, just like your sticks and bricks!
I love you deeply. Let me know how I can be praying for you.
