Travel Day 4.0

Today we are heading from PCB to our temporary digs in Alabama.  Google says 3 hours.  I'm hoping for three and a half!!

We are two hours in and nothing notable has taken place.  Praise Jesus.  This is a good travel day.  Hopefully this continues.

We did have a conversation about the route the gps has us on.  It doesn't know we are a 50 long 13 foot tall force to be reckoned with.  She had us making some hair pin turns on various LEE Roads.  I looked ahead and didn't like where she is taking us so I added a fake stop and changed the route.  Gary and I discussed it.  I said,  "Okay, I'm calling an audible!"

We still have not invested in a trucker GPS.  My dad has a truck route atlas I've been keeping my eye out for at Ollie's.  Low overpasses, narrow bridges and bridges that have weight restrictions are not our friends!!!

We arrived without incident or accident, found the manager who then showed us our site.  Not all campgrounds are created equally.  This one has concrete pad sites but for this particular month we needed it, none was available.  So, we have a gravel site.

For an RV and owners who have been struggling with leveling, this is never good news.  I wanted to cry when I saw it.  The manager had taken me to see it without Gary in his golf cart.  I said when he took me back..."Gary, you need to go look at it."  It is less than ideal but what do you do at this point?  We have been on the road, we have a reservation, and we paid a down payment.  Gary and I both felt that God wanted us here...I hope He reveals why.

We leveled her four times and still the back tire is off the ground. I'm praying we are fine.

We finally opened the slides without incident, thank you, Jesus.  And then Gary says, you have a water problem.  Excuse me?  I put the broom in the shower to travel, I have done this three travel days now.  But on this particular trip the broom decided to do a jig in the shower and turn on the water.

Now, thankfully it was in the shower, which has a drain. But I also put the humidifier in the shower.  The laundry basket goes in the shower. And the shower caddy which transports my bath stuff to a bathhouse when we were at a state park but holds my devotionals next to the potty all other times.

So, I have some wet books and a few items of wet dirty laundry.  BUT that is all of the excitement to report.

All in all, not a bad travel day at all!!!  And we get to be stationary for 5 weeks.  😊

All in all, not a terrible travel day.
